Our client is currently looking for several experienced and qualified Electrical & Mechanical Draughtsman to deliver training to individuals attending the School of Engineering at Medway.

If you have experience of working as an Electrical and/or Mechanical Draughtsman hold a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have City & Guilds in CAD using AutoCAD, or acceptable equivalents or ONC Mechanical or Electrical with endorsements, we would like to hear off you.

This is a great opportunity for an individual from a building/construction background who wants to pass on to others their skills, experience and knowledge.

KEY DUTIES AND TASKS:
• Instruct and demonstrate to trainees by oral, visual and/or other means the Draughtsman Electrical and Mechanical trade, allied skills, and related technology.
• Preparing lectures and lessons, classwork, homework, theoretical and practical examination tests to National and Army Department standards.
• Proposing, and where appropriate, preparing devices, diagrams models etc for use in instruction and demonstration.
• Control and supervise trainees under their charge with particular emphasis on their safety, discipline, and quality and quantity of output.
• Maintain course and trainee records for report purposes and such other work that may be required to keep the courses up to date and accredited for any civilian qualifications claimed.
• Assess and mark both theoretical and practical course work and progress tests.
• Supervising and ensuring cleanliness of classrooms, workshops and other instructional areas, including the equipment for which the Instructor and trainees are responsible.
• Maintaining suitable and current knowledge of Draughtsman Electrical and Mechanical techniques and advancements.
• Act as a substitute for the Programme Area Leader (PAL) in their absence.
• Carry out department security duties as required.
• Writing trainees’ disciplinary reports in a timely manner.
• Conform to Standing Orders for the department and training establishment in general and for the classrooms and workshops in particular.
• Adhere to and implement both School and Divisional Safety Instructions.
• Visit trainees when on work placements for assessment and mentoring.
• Be prepared to work at other Mid Kent College locations as required.
