Costing/Pricing Assistant, Temp-Perm

My client based in Gillingham is looking for a Costing Assistant. The role will initially start on a temporary basis with a view to going permanent for the right candidate. The hourly rate will be in the region of £7.50+ per hour.

Principal Accountabilities:

Costing / Pricing

• Price requests received from the sales teams for existing / new projects / customers.
• Check the requests (technically / company policy feasible) - for new projects only. Using Excel, proceed with the calculation of the prices.
• Once finished these need to be e-mailed to sales.
• Sales need to send back to Estimating Dept. the quotation and this needs to be checked by Costing Dept.
• Any discrepancies (spec as well as prices) sales need to be informed.

Order Intake / Invoices

• Sales coordinators send New / Repeat order forms. The sales price on these forms needs to be checked, firstly against the spec itself and then against contracts/ price lists - extreme accuracy required in order to avoid credit notes at a later date.
• Invoice checking - this needs to be done on a daily basis.
• There will be occasion where urgent invoices need releasing due to lorries awaiting despatches therefore this will have to be done there and then.
• This will be checked on Baan, against the New / Repeat order forms already in the Estimating Department's file (received and checked as above).

This is a pressurised and busy environment, suitable applicants will have come from a similar background.
